Growing up in the Italian culture, we learned the significance of sharing a meal with family. Food was art, meals were made with attention, care and pride. Using only fresh and quality ingredients. It was an expression of love. Italian Bakery has taken that knowledge alongside with our experience in the industry to create a place where friends and family a like can gather, shop and enjoy. It’s not just a market to us, it’s our lifestyle, where we come from and what we hold most important.

THE CULTURE WE GREW UP WITH

The team at Italian Bakery decided to use their 60 plus years of experience in the industry to expand, and the vision of Italian Bakery’s Mercato came to life in late 2017. The Italian Bakery has persevered through a devastating fire at our Beverly location in 2016, we reopened our doors in 2017 bigger and better. Again, in early April 2020, another devastating fire occurred at our 97 st location. Once again we have persevered and built bigger and better.

WHERE WE CAME FROM

First established in 1960, the Italian Bakery was built on family traditions, hard work, and a passion for providing it’s customers with quality ingredients and delicious products. Built by Antonio and Aurora Frattin, the business started in a little shop on 93 Street and as it grew, the bakery moved to it’s downtown location on 97 street in 1962, and it’s second location in Beverly in 1989. The Italian Bakery has been family run for over three generations and knows that its love for family, friends and community has been the key to it’s success.
